A group of four players from the Crumpsall Concert Band got together and started a clarinet quartet in 2002.
We call ourselves the "The Redgate Four".
From left to right: Alan (first clarinet); John (second clarinet); Ron (third clarinet and arranger); Cyril (bass clarinet).
We play for enjoyment and for the entertainment of others. Our repertoire include short light classical works (Mozart, Handel, Haydn), and popular old time tunes (Gershwin, Hoagy Carmichael). We have played for senior citizens in homes and clubs and provide an hour or so of entertainment which includes musical quizzes, sing-alongs, and comic verses (read by John).Essentially a charitable group we are not averse to a small honorarium to cover the cost of buying music.
Much of our material has been provided by arrangements made by one of our team (Ron).
If you would like us to play for you, email Cyril.
